Silence
There’s a special thing I found
That brings out the best
It can make you more awake
And even help you rest
It’s called silence
(Silence)
Shh, shh
Sometimes it’s not what you say
But the spaces in between
You’ll be much less bothersome
And feel more serene
Embrace silence
(Silence)
Shh, shh
There’s a treasure we all share
A rare and precious gift
It can clear the fog away
Give your brain a lift
It’s called silence
(Silence)
Shh, shh
Some have said it’s golden
But that’s not rich enough
So please don’t chat or chant or cry
Or even sigh or huff
I love silence
(Silence)
Shh, shh
The library’s a magic place
And not just for the books
Where should my neighbor make a sound
I can shoot him dirty looks
That say “silence”
(Silence)
Shh, shh
If you’re averse to noisiness
It would be my greatest glee
If you’d join me once in singing
Of its merits, quietly
We love silence
(Silence)
Shh, shh
We love silence
(Silence)
Shh, shh
