Gone Too Soon

Gone Too Soon

Saw your Mama yesterday
Never seen her hair so gray
Told me to stop by sometime
Pick out anything I’d like

Thanked her for all the cheer
You spread in only thirty years
Wished her peace, love, and health
Still can’t quite believe myself

You are gone too soon
Never got to say goodbye
Gone too soon
No use asking why
I’ll find you in the stars
Watch you walk the moon
And nurse my broken heart
You are gone too soon

Some live harder than the rest
But every journey ends in death
Or rebirth if you believe
We carry on your energy

Sundress walkin’ on a summer day
Flowered hair and a smiling face
Blue skies far as the eye could see
You knew all pain was temporary

You are gone too soon
Never got to say goodbye
Gone too soon
No use asking why
I’ll find you in the stars
Watch you walk the moon
And nurse my broken heart
You are gone too soon

God, I hope all pain is temporary

You are gone too soon
Never got to say goodbye
Gone too soon
No use asking why
I’ll find you in the stars
Watch you walk the moon
Curse this broken heart
You are gone too soon

Gone too soon
