Last year, I brought old Facebook quips and one-liners to life in a comedic audio recording, “Wasn’t Funny the First Time.”
That recording proved so unpopular – and that unpopularity was, to me, so funny – that I felt compelled to do it again. The resulting sequel, “Won’t Be Funny This Time,” can be heard below. Maybe. If you’re on a device that’ll let you play it.
The sequel is longer than the first recording, clocking in at 23 minutes. It also covers material written over a single year, and keeps it in roughly chronological order, so it has more of “watching four seasons come and go” kind of structure to it.
Like you’re spending a whole year inside my head!
If that doesn’t scare you away, I don’t know what will.
If you’d like to support my writing and unfortunate attempts at humor this year, throw a few bucks my way and I’ll send you downloadable MP3s of both shows for convenient offline bomb shelter listening on any device of your choice.
Or don’t. You know, it’s your life.

Well I may be the one that doesn’t get scared away…at least by the humor in this email. I have to say one of the things I miss most about Facebook is your humor. Guess that makes me a weirdo. I also still can’t manage to buy anything from Amazon Insta-send-me-ridiculous-items-I-could-drive-to-the-store-and-buy-quicker-so I attribute the boost in my bank account to you.
Thanks for the giggle

Thanks, Claire. That’s sweet. Good to hear from you!
Hopefully I’ll be posting more stuff over here so Facebook will be less of a necessary outlet. I’m not a big fan of most things about it.

I have mixed feelings about it-I miss it and I don’t. I was hoping after almost 2 months without I wouldn’t still reach for the blue icon. Guess old habits die hard. But I will continue to check my non-work email, and sift through the “sale here-don’t miss” ones just for your gems. 😉
